Hackathon Rules

Respect and Inclusion Our hackathon is dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable, and harassment‑free experience for everyone. Discrimination or harassment will not be tolerated based on:

  • Gender, gender identity, or expression

  • Age

  • Sexual orientation

  • Disability

  • Physical appearance or body size

  • Race, ethnicity, or nationality

  • Religion or political views

  • Previous hackathon attendance or lack of experience

  • Computing experience or lack thereof

  • Chosen programming language or tech stack

Behavior Expectations

  • Be respectful, supportive, and collaborative.

  • Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate in any hackathon venue, including talks, workshops, demos, parties, social media, or online platforms .

  • Harassment includes offensive comments, intimidation, stalking, unwanted photography or recording, sustained disruption, inappropriate physical contact, or unwelcome sexual attention .

  • Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately .

Applicability

  • These rules apply to all hacks, presentations, workshops, social events, and online interactions related to the hackathon .

  • Sponsors, partners, and volunteers are equally subject to this policy. Sponsors must not use sexualized images, activities, or clothing .

Enforcement

  • Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event .

  • If you are being harassed or notice harassment, contact hackathon staff immediately. Staff will assist with contacting security or law enforcement if needed .

  • Organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warnings, expulsion without refund, or reporting to law enforcement .
